Csap Radar Network State Center

Description: CSAP RADAR NETWORK STATE CENTER The federal Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) sponsors the Regional Alcohol and Drug Awareness Resource (RADAR) Network. The RADAR Network is a partnership in which members assist CSAP as the "eyes and ears" in the substance abuse field. State members in the RADAR network include clearinghouses, prevention resource centers and information centers of national organizations. The RADAR network center in the state provides a variety of materials and information not only to prevent substance abuse in the workplace and but also in the community. Description: STATE OF VERMONT Through the State Employee Assistance Program, the Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs in the Vermont Agency of Human Services assists small businesses in establishing a workplace free of substance abuse and other substance abuse prevention efforts. Examples of the services available to businesses include: 1) Technical assistance on drug policy development, interpretation of Vermont's drug testing law, employee assistance policy development, employee education programs, and referrals to potential providers. 2) Training on the nature of drug abuse, employee assistance orientation for supervisors and employees, and other topics on request. 3) Samples and suggestions of materials for use in a continuing employee education program. Description: VERMONT NATIONAL GUARD COUNTERDRUG PROGRAM Through numerous community-based, leadership, educational and informational programs, the National Guard Counterdrug Program supports individuals and organizations dedicated to drug intervention and prevention, anti-legalization efforts, and the positive development of youth. The National Guard also supports the National Red Ribbon Celebration--a week-long celebration of drug-free lifestyles held annually in late October. Booths, displays, and demonstrations often are used along with the distribution of ribbons and literature to spread the drug awareness theme among communities.
